🚨What is the relationship between ankle sprain and peroneal muscle?

🌀Most ankle sprains (especially inversion sprains ) are caused by inversion of the foot and strain of the lateral ankle ligaments - but did you know?

👉When a sprain occurs, the peroneal muscles will be overstretched or instantly contracted to protect the ankle joint!

This results in:

  • Muscle strain or tendon inflammation
  • Peroneal tendon slippage (severe cases)
